Keep Experimenting

When i was a child I always used to say that i would never become a teacher when i grew up . But destiny pushed me into the teaching field only and today it's been around twenty years that I have been teaching maths and physics to students . But somewhere at the back of my mind it's still  there that I am in a wrong line . I think it happens with many of us . I asked one of my engineer friends if he that was the exact profession he was in and he replied " It's ok , I am earning good ....but how lucrative it would have been if i was into a travel industry" . One of my cousins who is a doctor has a passion for photography . May be you too had a love for something else but are doing something else .

Yesterday only I and my daughter were together watching a movie and suddenly I questioned her 'What's that thing that you don't know yet but wish to learn , something you think would make you very happy' .She said ' I wish to play guitar' and to the same question my answer was  ' Wish i was born in a family where music and dance was in  genes' . I suggested her to start learning guitar but she said that it was the time to focus on her studies .

Sometimes our vision is vague and we are not able to judge our abilities what we may prove to be good at . To me , teaching became a profession for earning but to satisfy that demon at the back of mind , I experimented many things . Few years ago , I joined a music school but got impatient within 15 days . I joined an online dance class during lockdown  but learning dance from a mobile and that too alone was just not interesting . The initial years in blogging were very exciting but the excitement graph slowly started declining . Then i started learning calligraphy and thankfully it's still ON for the last two years . I don't know how many more experiments I would take in life but every experiment has brought some learning along . So keep experimenting !

I recently read  story of a girl who after many experiments in her  job career quit it and followed her passion for photography. She initiated the concept of birth photography and after many rejections she runs a successful birth photography business by the name 'Mommastory' with many employees working under her .

I am sure you also must have done many experiments . Why don't you share your experience ?

I am writing this post as part of #BlogchatterA2Z month long  writing festival

Zoning out and other tips to free your mind

Red zone , orange zone , green zone , we all are familiar with these terms now-a-days . The district where I live has been declared as a red zone . Red zone is the zone where there are quite a large number of cases of Corona virus infection and it stands a chance to spread rapidly . Orange zone is where there are few cases and it can be controlled with few efforts . Green zone is the one where there’s no virus infection as yet and we want it to remain a green zone . The same concept applies to our thoughts . Sometimes the life becomes a real struggle – there are conflicts with family , pressures at workplace , parenting burdens , health troubles , and there accompany them the stressful  emotions -frustration , anger , sadness , hatred , self-neglect , and many more . When such emotions pile up in your mind , you need to become very careful of your thoughts as your mind has entered a red zone . You have to work on your thoughts so as to avoid potential of community outbreak o...

I started my blog five years ago and my blogging journey during these five years has gone through many twists and turns . All this was quite exciting you know as I got to understand a bit of creative side of writing , made some new blogger friends , and became a proud AUTHOR of two ebooks .  In 2018 my theme was #Astitva where I wrote about various stigmas faced by a woman in our society . In 2019 I wrote under the theme #Prerna where I uploaded  some inspirational posts . In 2020 all my blogposts were related to the life of middle aged women (as that was the time I had just stepped into my forties ) . That was the time I came up with the book 'The Silv...

Being a woman i also spend lot of time in my kitchen whether full heartedly , half heartedly or not at all heartedly . But in any case i have to go in my kitchen off and on . Today I feel like writing a letter to my kitchen. Dear Kitchen    Hope you are living a fulfilling life with all your jars filled to the brim with wheat , rice , pulses , sugar , tea ,coffee and cookies . I also hope that your sinks are now empty and clean unlike the last month when maid was on leave . Those days ,your sinks used to be piled up with utensils and it stinked so badly .  Dear kitchen , it's been around seventeen years that i am taking care of you . Now you are grown up as a teenager and so you should learn to be responsible and maintain your hygiene .  It feels good when my family agrees on khichdi and your cooker does the job   in  just one whistle . But you just don't cooperate when they demand Chole Bhature and you also start giving me tantrums . Remember ho...
