My Gratitude for the little Pains and Pleasures

Life offers us a lot . Smiles & Cries , Pains & Pleasures , Calm & Crazy , Laughter & Tears , Friends & Enemies . See there is so much variety our life brings for us . This variety of situations & emotions keep the life interesting , atleast I think so . After all, a long drive even on  those ultra smooth roads  doesn’t bring the  thrill out of the heart  unless you have  already  experienced  some bumps or traffic or speed breakers .  Same is the case with our life . We can value our pleasures fully only if we have experienced pains . We can  enjoy our laughter in the real sense today only if our eyes have ever flown with tears of sorrow  in the past . We can feel thankful for the care, love & blessings  of our dear ones  only if  we know how it felt when someone had hurt our feelings . So I think we should be grateful for our little pains and pleasures in the life . Yes  I am calling them little , as none of them is permanent . And above all it is our...

They call it Immoral Lump of Flesh #FGM #Astitva

I was a little girl at that time . My dress was pulled up and panty pulled down . The ladies tied my hands and my  legs were forced stretched apart . I was made to lie in a small messy room . I saw a  lady in black having a blade in her hand . And to my horror , something inside me was cut . I screamed and cried n cried but those ladies were smiling and even congratulating each other .  Doesn’t it send jerks to you ? Didn’t your heartbeat increase after reading this ? What’s this happening  ? Where is it happening and why is it happening ? Well ,  As I was reading today’s newspaper TOI , I came across a horrifying article plus the  thought for the day . The article was on Female Genital Mutilation or FGM in short . FGM is a cruel practice observed by many societies in the name of a religious practice . In India it is practiced by Bohra community , a sect of Shia Muslims . The little girls are circumcised before they attain puberty . By circumcised it means that t...

A is for Author --My journey of becoming an author ; What did I learn during the journey of self publishing my Ebook? #Astitva

Soon after I started blogging , I came to know about Ebooks and I could find many bloggers who had self published their Ebooks . Although I was a newbie but imagining my name on the cover of a book excited me and the thought  made a mark in my subconscious mind . The  desire   of publishing an Ebook was getting intensified and I was getting more and more curious about the what and how of  self publishing an Ebook . Then came the BlogchatterA2Z carnival where every blogger was supposed to write daily in the month of April , starting with the alphabet of the day . A on 1st April , B on 2nd April and so on .Daily blogging was a challenge but  I love when something challenges me ,because  that is the best time to know your limits , push yourself to bring out the best out of you .I decided to go for it and registered for it. But till that time , I didn’t  have any idea what would I blog about .  I explored  a lot of websites to get an idea about the theme  on which I could blog daily ....

#Kanyadaan - Isn't it a way of objectifying the woman by the patriarchal society ? #BlogchatterA2Z

K stands for : Kanyadaan Pic credit : weddingokay.com Kanyadaan – This hefty word has been very  very hard to digest for her mind , since childhood . The word Kanyadaan  has inflamed Rekha’s mind whenever it has been used . She still remembers when a day before her marriage , she had overheard her Papa whispering  tensely to her mother ” The groom’s family wants us to keep atleast 200 gm of gold in Jamai Raja’s hand at the time of Kanyadaan ” And she also has a fresh picture in her mind when her Papa had  actually placed a folded cheque along while placing her hand onto the  the Rajiv’s hand . At that moment , Rekha’s mind had started questioning itself again , as it had been questioning since childhood . Since   childhood  , Rekha   attended many weddings with her parents . At every wedding , she always saw  Pandit G reciting some mantras , asking father of the bride to keep his daughter’s hand in the groom’s hand , and then ...

Taking the Challenge of Daily Blogging - Revealing My Theme #AtoZChallenge2018

The last few days ate my brain checking the exam papers in the school , with hardly any time for my dear Alubhujia .  Now when the school result is almost compiled up , here I am back again ready to roll up sleeves for the upcoming blogging challenge . The month of April is very near and I am participating in #AtoZChallenge2018. Today I am here to reveal my theme for this challenge . What is  #AtoZChallenge2018 ? It’s a blogging challenge that takes place in the month of April, every year . The participant needs to post daily except Sundays . That means I will have to blog daily . And the condition is that every post should start with an alphabet , first post starting from A till the last post starting with Z . It  is advised to write on a particular theme for all these days . Theme ??  What Theme ?  Well deciding a theme  , a central idea , on which I can blog daily , was a hard  task . And as this is my first time , it was even harder . But finally I could make up my mind . Hope...
