What about your spiritual health ? #Prerna #BlogchatterA2Z

Spiritual health is basically one’s morals and life principles  -its how we treat ourselves and others when no one is looking .

Spiritual health is about the connection with self , others , the nature and God .  Spiritual health  is  one of the key aspects of overall health of a being . According to numerous studies , spiritual health leads to improved mental health  and is positively related to physical health too .

No doubt that  the major component of spiritual health is the religious component- the religious thoughts or actions , But still a  person may not be  spiritually very healthy just because  he goes to a temple or other religious place daily .

Spiritual health components

  1. Connection with God–Religious Component

The religious component means a sense of connection with God, love of God, prayer, the feeling that God is effective, and God-oriented knowledge, attitude, and behavior.

“The most important and essential component of spiritual health is communication with God

(1-a) Prayers : Keep yourself spiritually healthy with your prayers . Prayer is an effective method of communication with the supreme power . It morally boosts you up , strengthens you and brings calmness in your life . Spare time for your prayers , don’t keep a demand to God everytime , just be with him , feel grateful for all you have . Perform religious rites , sing devotional songs , read the religious literature and try to implement the learnings in your life .

(1-b) Meditation : Meditation is going deep inside without any thoughts . Following your breath , listening some meditative song , chanting some mantra repetitively , or just focussing on a centre point inside you , the method can be any . It may be difficult in the beginning but nothing is impossible when you try . Start with just 5 minutes of meditation , follow the routine consistently and you would yourself feel the bliss .

Here’s a detailed post on Meditation for beginners

2. Connection with self

The individualistic component comes from human connection with himself.  One’s moral values , culture , hope , positive attitude , self-actualization,  peace,  balance,  calmness are some of the essentials when it comes to Self part of spiritual health .

For a strong Self Spiritual health :

  • Smile and  Laugh more often
  • Try Yoga
  • Nurture your soul
  • Don’t fear

“Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood.”–Marie Curie

      3. Connection with others and Nature

The third component of spiritual health is  human connection with others and the natureConnection with others creates a sense of responsibility toward them, unconditional love, forgiveness , harmony with others, and knowledge, attitude, and behavior in relation with others.

Human connection with the nature shows how much  love one has for the God’s creation . How grateful one feels towards the nature -the unlimited source of heat and energy called Sun ,  the moonlight spreading calmness in the night , the other forms of life on earth ,or the water  ,air , plants which sustain life .  How concerned one feels when it comes to preserving nature is an indicator of one’s spiritual health  in relation with the nature.

Here’s how you can improve your connection with others which are beneficial for your own spiritual health :

  • Be grateful to Nature
  • Work towards preservation of natural resources
  • Have nature walks – appreciate the colourful flowers
  • Walk barefoot on the green grass
  • Do some community service
  • Every one is God’s child , so be kind to strangers too
  • Inspire yourself first and then spread the inspiration around .

Theme Reveal #BlogchatterA2Z 2022

I started my blog five years ago and my blogging journey during these five years has gone through many twists and turns . I started my blog on self hosted wordpress site , learnt lot many technical aspects like DA ,  SEO and latram patram .....Blogchatter has been a constant friend ( plus a big support) since then ....I have  successfully participated in  #BlogchatterA2Z three times .....and wrote two ebooks too during the process . All this was quite exciting you know as I got to understand a bit of creative side of writing , made some new blogger friends , and became a proud AUTHOR of two ebooks .  In 2018 my theme was #Astitva where I wrote about various stigmas faced by a woman in our society . In 2019 I wrote under the theme #Prerna where I uploaded  some inspirational posts . In 2020 all my blogposts were related to the life of middle aged women (as that was the time I had just stepped into my forties ) . That was the time I came up with the book 'The Silver Lined Mommy'

A letter to my Kitchen

Being a woman i also spend lot of time in my kitchen whether full heartedly , half heartedly or not at all heartedly . But in any case i have to go in my kitchen off and on . Today I feel like writing a letter to my kitchen. Dear Kitchen    Hope you are living a fulfilling life with all your jars filled to the brim with wheat , rice , pulses , sugar , tea ,coffee and cookies . I also hope that your sinks are now empty and clean unlike the last month when maid was on leave . Those days ,your sinks used to be piled up with utensils and it stinked so badly .  Dear kitchen , it's been around seventeen years that i am taking care of you . Now you are grown up as a teenager and so you should learn to be responsible and maintain your hygiene .  It feels good when my family agrees on khichdi and your cooker does the job   in  just one whistle . But you just don't cooperate when they demand Chole Bhature and you also start giving me tantrums . Remember how i  had to bear my daughter

Education 5E Model : Which are the most important Es ?

Hi ! My name is Monika and  I am a teacher . I am working in the field of Education or should I say the field of Teaching-Learning for the last 18 years . My Basic educational qualification is Bachelor of Science (Mathematics  & Physics as the main subjects ) followed by Masters in Physics . So I have been teaching these two subjects for the last so many years . I have spent more years teaching Mathematics than Physics . When we talk of Teaching-Learning or Education  , there are many theories and approaches  available. One of them is constructivist approach to learning . It  focuses on the principle that Knowledge must be constructed and not just transmitted. Unlike Traditional approach in the classroom , Constructivist approach focuses that the teacher poses problems and questions for the students . The students themselves try to find the solutions based on their prior learning . All this promotes curiosity and creativity among the students. I have often used the constructivist
