Bhagavad-Gita: :Attaining Peace & Happiness with Devotion

Why Bhagavad-Gita ?

In today’s modern life we are always in a hurry , doing something or the other. We want to earn big , have all modern amenities and enjoy our life. Anger, tensions, frustration, materialistic comparisons have become part of lives. Our very physical existence in this world keeps us surrounded by many kind of problems and tensions. Daily we hear news of murders or rapes . I think the much needed religious bent of mind is lost somewhere. We need to take a step towards divine Consciousness. We should help others too in moving  on this path.

Reading Bhagavad -Gita on daily basis , may be even one verse a day , can be very helpful to bring joy in our life. When you start reading it , you would find that its verses  comfort you and can give you tips about managing  your  life in a better way, be it managing anger or remaining stress free.

It’s explained in Bhagavad-Gita that as sun is situated in one place but is illuminating the whole universe , similarly our little soul is illuminating the whole body by consciousness. We should try to make this consciousness a divine Consciousness . For that let us take  small Spiritual steps which can help us maintain peace and harmony in minds and add a new meaning to our lives.

Bhagavad-Gita is the essence of Vedic knowledge. It is one of the most important Upanishads in Vedic literature. The speaker of Bhagavad-Gita is Lord Sri Krishna . The Lord himself establishes himself as the supreme personality of Godhead in Bhagavad-Gita. So we should take Bhagavad-Gita as it is directed by Lord himself.

Bhagavad-Gita is the knowledge that the Lord Sri Krishna  gave to his devotee Arjuna .  Lord shared the divine knowledge with Arjuna because he was  Sri Krishna’s friend and a great devotee. So here it can be concluded  that Bhagavad-Gita is best understood by a devotee of Lord. Without devotion (bhakti)  it’s difficult to understand the deep subject matter of Bhagavad-Gita. May be life poses hindrances to making advancement in this devotional path , but we should be tolerant and consistent to make our progress with determination.

Here is the verse highlighting the importance of devotional service. Bhagavad-Gita

Here are few more verses from Bhagavad-Gita which tell about ways of attaining peace and happiness .

Bhagavad-Gita

Chapter 2 verse 71

In today’s world how can we be totally desireless ? But atleast lets try to always remember in mind that everything belongs to the Lord and we shouldn’t claim false ownership over anything.

Bhagavad-Gita

From chapter 12- Devotional Service

Bhagavad-Gita

Ultimately everybody strives for peace and happiness in his/her life. The real peace can be achieved with the grace of the Lord and in Bhagavad-Gita , Lord himself is directing us not to be carried away by the incessant  desires. Let’s try to make Bhakti a part of our daily routine .

I would be very very  happy if I am able to spread the  divine knowledge from The Bhagavad-Gita. If you have not read Bhagavad-Gita as yet, you must give it a try  (but with devotion please .) I am sure its reading will take you out from any kind of fears  and you can be elevated slowly on the path of peace and happiness.

If you really want to read Bhagavad-Gita , I would love to help you. You can mail me at alubhujiablog@gmail.com and provide me your address. I will send you a copy of the book for free.

Zoozoozoo : A journey

Today is Sunday ,  May 1st 2022 and yesterday i was invited to my daughter's school to witness a small function.  My daughter Suhani was born in 2007 and the day clearly flashes in front of my eyes when she got on to the auditorium stage for her first annual function during her LKG class . I had dressed her up in a beautiful purple frock . The auditorium echoed  with the sounds of claps as the team LKG stepped on to the stage and took their positions as couples . Their teacher had blushed  everyone's cheeks pink and golden. The song started 'Zoozoozoo......we welcome you ......' and the kiddos started twisting their hips and legs holding on to their partners . Awww...it was such an adorable performance that a mother couldn't control her tears .  Watching some  kids who forgot their dance steps and wanted to just run here and there on the stage was fun too !  Yesterday was the day when she again marched  on to the auditorium,  this time ...

A letter to my Kitchen

Being a woman i also spend lot of time in my kitchen whether full heartedly , half heartedly or not at all heartedly . But in any case i have to go in my kitchen off and on . Today I feel like writing a letter to my kitchen. Dear Kitchen    Hope you are living a fulfilling life with all your jars filled to the brim with wheat , rice , pulses , sugar , tea ,coffee and cookies . I also hope that your sinks are now empty and clean unlike the last month when maid was on leave . Those days ,your sinks used to be piled up with utensils and it stinked so badly .  Dear kitchen , it's been around seventeen years that i am taking care of you . Now you are grown up as a teenager and so you should learn to be responsible and maintain your hygiene .  It feels good when my family agrees on khichdi and your cooker does the job   in  just one whistle . But you just don't cooperate when they demand Chole Bhature and you also start giving me tantrums . Remember ho...

Mindfulness ki Aisi ki Taisi

Two years ago I had written two posts about mindfulness on my blog . One was about what mindfulness is and other exclusively  about food mindfulness. Food mindfulness suggests that one gets conscious of one's food plate - check if the ingredients are high in carbs or low in proteins , check if you are consuming more sugary foods , keep a check that your breakfast plate should me fullest and dinner plate the lightest . There's lot to be checked you know . But point is that if i keep checking all this stuff ,how do i enjoy food ?  What's the harm if my cheese is  served as paneer butter masala ? Won't chole bhature mind if i have only dry chapati with moong dal ? And why these sprouts and salads  feel egoistic in being on top of food mindfulness? Kya gunaah kar diya humne agar cream salad kha liya ? After all it's a salad only .   And you know my breakfast plate just does not obey the rule of it being heaviest.  Instead the dinner plate gets jam p...
