The Silver Lined Mommy - a book for middle aged women

‘The Silver Lined Mommy’

It is an eBook which is a self-help book for middle aged women. A woman plays many roles –  wife , mother , daughter and a daughter-in-law . She handles endless responsibilities being a home-maker and a care-taker for her family . Amid all this , a woman’s personal priorities somehow take a back seat . And as she  steps into  the middle age group of her life i.e. around the age of forty , she notices some changes in her body and mind too . Fine wrinkles start appearing , hair start changing  their color to grey , some extra hair growth on face or may be some weight-gain  . She starts to meet a  little different woman  in the mirror. The middle age group also brings some hormone problems which may cause stress .

From the author of ‘The Silver Lined Mommy’

Hi ! I am Monika Davessar – author of the  eBook ‘The Silver Lined Mommy’. I am running in my forties and by profession I am working as a lecturer for the last 19 years. Writing has become my interest for the last three years –thanks to my blog and the blogging community which keeps pushing me . In April 2020 I participated in a month long blogging challenge run by #Blogchatter in which I chose the theme of ‘Mommy’ and I wrote about A to Z of how a woman should embrace herself rather celebrate herself  amid the business of  playing all mommy  responsibilities .

My own age and experiences became the power factor behind my blogging theme . I do notice changes in myself as I am going through the forty age group . Some stress factors , some changes in body and few health troubles . But I embrace all these with a smile.

The  selected  best posts of ‘Mommy’ blogging theme have been organized with some additional appealing  content to form the book ‘The Silver Lined Mommy’

What you can find in the book  ‘The Silver Lined Mommy’

Love your body , Emotional health , Stress management , Spiritual health , sexual health, Happiness , Joy , Calm principles – you can get to read many such chapters in the book .

If you are a mother or a middle aged woman , this self-help book is for you . Do read it ! Enjoy !

“The glow of the face  that is gradually fading  , the hair which are turning silver and the fine wrinkles who have started smiling near the eyes of a woman ; are all the signs not of decay but of growth – growth to a better state of being”  – Monika Davessar , author of ‘The Silver Lined Mommy’

Zoozoozoo : A journey

Today is Sunday ,  May 1st 2022 and yesterday i was invited to my daughter's school to witness a small function.  My daughter Suhani was born in 2007 and the day clearly flashes in front of my eyes when she got on to the auditorium stage for her first annual function during her LKG class . I had dressed her up in a beautiful purple frock . The auditorium echoed  with the sounds of claps as the team LKG stepped on to the stage and took their positions as couples . Their teacher had blushed  everyone's cheeks pink and golden. The song started 'Zoozoozoo......we welcome you ......' and the kiddos started twisting their hips and legs holding on to their partners . Awww...it was such an adorable performance that a mother couldn't control her tears .  Watching some  kids who forgot their dance steps and wanted to just run here and there on the stage was fun too !  Yesterday was the day when she again marched  on to the auditorium,  this time ...

Uplift your mood

My evening today was not good . I was doing all domestic chores in a  burdened way. I tried watching some  movie but it couldn't interest me . One of my colleagues called to intimate me of  some upcoming duty. That further pressurized my bad  mood . I wore my shoes , put on my headphones and got ready for a walk . After walking for around half an hour and listening to old bollywood , my feet took me towards the splash pool where children were enjoying . I removed my shoes and sat there at the edge of the pool dipping my feet into the water. Watching me , one of my friends also came and sat along . Both of us sat for quite  long on the edge of pool - chatting and dabbling our toes in the water. This cooled my mind and uplifted my mood .  You need to find  your own ways to uplift your mood as and when required . Music , Dance ,Good food , Laughing , shopping ,picnic ,  playing any sport you like , painting , talking to someone , chanting a man...

Blogging Marathon in my Mind #Barathon 2018

I have been blogging for the last around one year . I should not address myself as a newbie blogger now , but still I feel high or low as a blogger sometimes . There are times when I  motivate myself to write blog posts or be active on social media but there also come some times when I feel like quitting blogging . There is a blogging marathon running in my mind all the time – sometimes positive and sometimes negative . Here are the thoughts which peep into my mind as a blogger . 1. Blog Blog Blog – what should I blog about ? A story or a poem ? My life experience or my dreams ? 2. Other bloggers ask me – What’s your niche ? What should I answer them ? I think think and think but I don’t reach to any conclusion . What actually I want to share with my readers ? Rather what actually should I share with my readers ? 3. Why did I name my blog AluBhujia ? Did I plan to write about food earlier or just because this is my favourite bhujia ? Should I change it ? Is...
