Waiheke Island #traveloguenz

Reaching Waiheke from Auckland central

Take a ferry from Auckland central terminal and you reach one of the most beautiful islands of New Zealand . Before I  write about Waiheke island , I just can’t miss describing the wonderful ferry ride experience from Auckland central to Waiheke . The ride cost me  just 40 dollars and I entered the ferry . My previous ferry experience was in Kerala ,India but this was different . With a double decked ferry having seating inside as well on the deck , it was an exciting journey for me . waiheke

Ferry that took me to Waiheke

I preferred to stand  on the deck and enjoy the city view plus sea view with my ferry leaving  white streams of water behind . The experience of this ferry ride with the cool splashy breeze , scenic views amidst the dark clouds made me just fall in love with the island even before i reached there . I had to be careful of the crests and troughs while taking selfies . But I tell you , the experience was just fantastic .

How to roam around at Waiheke Island ?

On reaching Waiheke island , I enquired at the ferry terminal and came to know that I could move around the island by renting a bicycle /bike or i could get into a bus , using the same AT Hop card I already had . I would have loved exploring Waiheke on bike but shortage of time made me step into a bus .

There is plenty to keep you busy on Waiheke Island. Choose from award-winning wineries, beautiful beaches, jet ski adventures, snorkelling , cafes or just walk and enjoy the beautiful place in the lap of nature .

I preferred to spend as much time on  beaches .

Beaches at Waiheke Island :–

Oneroa Beach

As you step out from ferry ,this beach is very close by .  It is a popular destination for a leisurely walk, or a swim in the bay. There are good accommodation options too .

Palm Beach

Palm Beach is one of the most popular beaches on the northern side of the island.  Apart from popular I found it to be the most beautiful too .No doubt all the beaches are beautiful and unique but I enjoyed Palm beach the most . The golden sand , crystal clear water and the high chilling waves were just amazing . It’s a perfect place to spend time with your family . It is considered a safe swimming beach  , and it’s quite isolated too . While I was there I was the only one on the beach enjoying the company of my ownself  and the nature beautiful ,  clicking selfies even when it started raining .

Rocky Bay

Little tired , I took out the sandwiches and energy bars I was carrying in my bagpack at this bay . Although I didn’t enjoy much here but I had to spend around 45 minutes here as I had to wait for the next bus to carry me back to the ferry terminal .

Waiheke

After drizzling was over , I enjoy walking the Waiheke island

Onetangi Beach

This beach is  2 km long, so it’s a really nice place to take a walk along the beach.  The water here is shallow however it does get some small waves.  This beach was not isolated as Palm beach but I also can’t call it crowded.

If you happen to visit Waiheke you must plan atleast one night stay there. There are lots of staying and eating options . Except the beaches , you can explore the vineyards or enjoy some thrills like kayaking or surfing .

Why don’t you go to my youtube channel to watch some of the videos of my #traveloguenz

Waiheke is the paradise of NewZealand . Given the opportunity , I could  spend days here enjoying the magnificence of beaches , shades of sky , the sunset , the cafes and even some shopping .

I feel in bliss at Waiheke .

Theme Reveal #BlogchatterA2Z 2022

I started my blog five years ago and my blogging journey during these five years has gone through many twists and turns . I started my blog on self hosted wordpress site , learnt lot many technical aspects like DA ,  SEO and latram patram .....Blogchatter has been a constant friend ( plus a big support) since then ....I have  successfully participated in  #BlogchatterA2Z three times .....and wrote two ebooks too during the process . All this was quite exciting you know as I got to understand a bit of creative side of writing , made some new blogger friends , and became a proud AUTHOR of two ebooks .  In 2018 my theme was #Astitva where I wrote about various stigmas faced by a woman in our society . In 2019 I wrote under the theme #Prerna where I uploaded  some inspirational posts . In 2020 all my blogposts were related to the life of middle aged women (as that was the time I had just stepped into my forties ) . That was the time I came up with the book 'The Silver Lined Mommy'

A letter to my Kitchen

Being a woman i also spend lot of time in my kitchen whether full heartedly , half heartedly or not at all heartedly . But in any case i have to go in my kitchen off and on . Today I feel like writing a letter to my kitchen. Dear Kitchen    Hope you are living a fulfilling life with all your jars filled to the brim with wheat , rice , pulses , sugar , tea ,coffee and cookies . I also hope that your sinks are now empty and clean unlike the last month when maid was on leave . Those days ,your sinks used to be piled up with utensils and it stinked so badly .  Dear kitchen , it's been around seventeen years that i am taking care of you . Now you are grown up as a teenager and so you should learn to be responsible and maintain your hygiene .  It feels good when my family agrees on khichdi and your cooker does the job   in  just one whistle . But you just don't cooperate when they demand Chole Bhature and you also start giving me tantrums . Remember how i  had to bear my daughter

Education 5E Model : Which are the most important Es ?

Hi ! My name is Monika and  I am a teacher . I am working in the field of Education or should I say the field of Teaching-Learning for the last 18 years . My Basic educational qualification is Bachelor of Science (Mathematics  & Physics as the main subjects ) followed by Masters in Physics . So I have been teaching these two subjects for the last so many years . I have spent more years teaching Mathematics than Physics . When we talk of Teaching-Learning or Education  , there are many theories and approaches  available. One of them is constructivist approach to learning . It  focuses on the principle that Knowledge must be constructed and not just transmitted. Unlike Traditional approach in the classroom , Constructivist approach focuses that the teacher poses problems and questions for the students . The students themselves try to find the solutions based on their prior learning . All this promotes curiosity and creativity among the students. I have often used the constructivist
