Hair and Skin care in Monsoon season

As Monsoon season arrives every year , I experience lot of hair loss with always an itchy scalp . The irritating humid weather accompanied with  scorching heat of sun makes me feel low and also affects my skin badly . I have a sensitive skin ,it gets  reddish in this season and I am not able to apply anything on my face as my skin sweats also a lot.

I started researching  about the solutions to have healthy hair and skin. Actually our diet plays a vital role in having a healthy and fit body . Our body is made up of cells and they need good and constant nutrition with various minerals and vitamins .

hair and skin

For healthy hair and skin ,  following are the vital things which can help lessen hairfall , make hair smooth and have a shiny skin & scalp.

  1. Iron Rich foods

Iron is an essential mineral that  hair cells require. Deficiency of iron in the body may cause hair loss. When your  body is running low on iron and the hair roots are not able to get good  nutrients , this makes the hair weak and they break easily . You must have iron rich foods like spinach , brocolli , soybean , nuts , chia seeds in your diet . Quinoa is also rich in iron , so you can try quinoa upma in breakfast or include quinoa in the dal khichdi at times .

2. Protein

Your hair is made up of protein, therefore it is important to ensure that you have enough protein in your diet. Protein is the building block of hair and eggs  are one of the richest natural sources of protein. If you are completely vegetarian like me , you can apply egg direct on your hair scalp rather than eating it . Rajma and all other lentils are a good source of protein .hair and skin

3. Biotin

Biotin is a water soluble vitamin B , also called vitamin B7 . Your body needs biotin to convert specific nutrients into energy . It plays a vital role in the health of your hair , skin and nails . The deficiency of biotin may be the cause of your excessive hair loss , dry skin and brittle nails .

As I have been looking for solutions for my excessive hair loss , I thought of giving a try to  biotin supplements .  I ordered Satthwa Biotin which is a good health supplement for hair ,nails and skin . The product contains Zinc also which is an essential mineral for a healthy immune system and is favourable for hair tissue growth and repair .

It’s been just ten days that I am using the product and I tell you that I am able to notice an  improvement in my hairfall  problem . I am hopeful to get better results as I continue using the supplement for a month or two .

Let’s take better care of ourselves this season to have a healthy shiny skin , smooth &  strong hair and good overall health . After all Health is wealth !  and we always want to feel beautiful from inside ,no matter what .

Zoning out and other tips to free your mind

Red zone , orange zone , green zone , we all are familiar with these terms now-a-days . The district where I live has been declared as a red zone . Red zone is the zone where there are quite a large number of cases of Corona virus infection and it stands a chance to spread rapidly . Orange zone is where there are few cases and it can be controlled with few efforts . Green zone is the one where there’s no virus infection as yet and we want it to remain a green zone . The same concept applies to our thoughts . Sometimes the life becomes a real struggle – there are conflicts with family , pressures at workplace , parenting burdens , health troubles , and there accompany them the stressful  emotions -frustration , anger , sadness , hatred , self-neglect , and many more . When such emotions pile up in your mind , you need to become very careful of your thoughts as your mind has entered a red zone . You have to work on your thoughts so as to avoid potential of community outbreak o...

In 2019 I wrote under the theme #Prerna where I uploaded  some inspirational posts . In 2020 all my blogposts were related to the life of middle aged women (as that was the time I had just stepped into my forties ) . That was the time I came up with the book 'The Silv...

Being a woman i also spend lot of time in my kitchen whether full heartedly , half heartedly or not at all heartedly . But in any case i have to go in my kitchen off and on . Today I feel like writing a letter to my kitchen. Dear Kitchen    Hope you are living a fulfilling life with all your jars filled to the brim with wheat , rice , pulses , sugar , tea ,coffee and cookies . I also hope that your sinks are now empty and clean unlike the last month when maid was on leave . Those days ,your sinks used to be piled up with utensils and it stinked so badly .  Dear kitchen , it's been around seventeen years that i am taking care of you . Now you are grown up as a teenager and so you should learn to be responsible and maintain your hygiene .  It feels good when my family agrees on khichdi and your cooker does the job   in  just one whistle . But you just don't cooperate when they demand Chole Bhature and you also start giving me tantrums . Remember ho...
