Nischay kar apni jeet karun

These are the words from the most celebrated hymn “Deh Shiva Bar Mohe Eha”  by Sri Guru Gobind Singh . The composition describes the glory of the supreme power.

The words “Nischay kar apni jeet karun” mean that with Determination , I shall be victorious . These words are so inspiring  if we put this into practice . With strong determination , anything can be achieved . Work hard , be determined , struggle , and you are sure to meet success.

ਨ ਡਰੋਂ ਅਰਿ ਸੋ ਜਬ ਜਾਇ ਲਰੋਂ ਨਿਸਚੈ ਕਰਿ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਜੀਤ ਕਰੋਂ ॥

न डरौं अरि सौं जब जाय लड़ौं, निश्चय कर अपनी जीत करौं

ਦੇਹ ਸਿਵਾ ਬਰੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਇਹੈ ਸੁਭ ਕਰਮਨ ਤੇ ਕਬਹੂੰ ਨ ਟਰੋਂ ॥

देह शिवा बर मोहे ईहे, शुभ कर्मन ते कभुं न टरूं

ਅਰੁ ਸਿਖ ਹੋਂ ਆਪਨੇ ਹੀ ਮਨ ਕੌ ਇਹ ਲਾਲਚ ਹਉ ਗੁਨ ਤਉ ਉਚਰੋਂ ॥

अरु सिख हों आपने ही मन कौ इह लालच हउ गुन तउ उचरों

ਜਬ ਆਵ ਕੀ ਅਉਧ ਨਿਦਾਨ ਬਨੈ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਰਨ ਮੈ ਤਬ ਜੂਝ ਮਰੋਂ ॥

जब आव की अउध निदान बनै अति ही रन मै तब जूझ मरों।

Meaning :-

I shall have no fear of the enemy when I go into battle and with determination I will be victorious. O God give me this boon that I never refrain from doing the righteous act. That, I may teach my mind to only sing your praises. And when the time comes, I should die fighting heroically on the field of battle.

A letter to my Kitchen

 Being a woman i also spend lot of time in my kitchen whether full heartedly , half heartedly or not at all heartedly . But in any case i have to go in my kitchen off and on . Today I feel like writing a letter to my kitchen. Dear Kitchen    Hope you are living a fulfilling life with all your jars filled to the brim with wheat , rice , pulses , sugar , tea ,coffee and cookies . I also hope that your sinks are now empty and clean unlike the last month when maid was on leave . Those days ,your sinks used to be piled up with utensils and it stinked so badly .  Dear kitchen , it's been around seventeen years that i am taking care of you . Now you are grown up as a teenager and so you should learn to be responsible and maintain your hygiene .  It feels good when my family agrees on khichdi and your cooker does the job   in  just one whistle .
