Love your Body - A friendly advice for women over 40

Do you know the tips to  Love your Body ?

Hello all the women out there ! How’s Life going on ?

As we reach 40 we do notice some changes in our physical appearance .  Some grey hairs make their entry , we may notice some eye wrinkles  or dark circles . Hormonal changes bring some extra hair growth on chin or other parts of face . We may put on  that stubborn fat around tummy or the arms fat may start to hang down . Well there may be different changes in our bodies varying from person to person .

The 40 milestone may bring many emotional changes too but today we will be discussing just about physical appearance .

What changes have  I observed in myself after 40 ?

40s has blessed me with

  •  grey hairs
  • few eye wrinkles
  •  skin dryness
  • some weight gain
  • Backache  ( Lumbo Sacral belt has become my essential friend )
  • a tooth extracted

I  don’t have a perfect body as I had  during  20-30s . What do I do now ?

My marriage time dresses don’t fit me any more . I have more often to go to parlour for hiding my greys .

When I look in the mirror twisting front and back ,I  get extra conscious of my body shape . I am not old but I am not even young . But I do want to look young .

I start eating  more of salads , skipping  dinner , and going to gym  again . I want to be back in good shape again . But my work routine doesn’t allow me to be consistent on this .

As I am suffering from backache , Doctor has advised me to avoid  weight training . Only brisk walk or yoga can help me .

I wonder how I was able to lose 8 kg weight few years back . Hope the scale  points  to that reading once again .

I feel jealous of the woman in my society who has a perfect body and wears frocks and shorts .

Are the physical looks so important for a woman ?

The very first thing anybody notices in you is your looks . How your face and body look .  No doubt that having a charming face or the not-fat figure make a woman graceful . But I think it  should not be such  important  as to pressurize me and make me stressed.

The pressure to have a slim figure , beautiful face are  only for  women . For men, being obese , having dark circles , grey hair or even a patchy skin will do . Nobody even notices . But for women !

Advice tips for women over 40 -How to Love your body

love your body

  • You can work to have a beautiful personality but you should also Love your body as it is .

What do you think ?  A woman would be happy only if she is slim ? Only a  woman with a beautiful face would be appreciated ? Well I think we need to stop comparing ourselves with others.  . We all need to love our bodies . Not every slim woman is happy . Not just black hair are smart . In some cases greys are smarter . What do you think ? Complete grey hair , a graceful saree and a red lipstick can prove to be glorifying over  the  dark eye circles too .

It’s not that I am asking you to be lethargic and forget about your physical appearance. You must work for a graceful appearance . Color your hair  or keep them greys  as you want . If the body fat doesn’t listen to you , dress up differently to make a fool of it . Cover your fatty areas with long gowns ,  flowing dresses or sarees . They all can make you look slimmer and sexy .

But just love your body . Don’t feel guilty about it .

  • Focus on your inner joy

The thing you should be focused on is your health and  inner  joy . One can be happy in her pyjamas too ,  I think happier .

You know what ? I have to wear  my backache belt on daily basis especially while traveling . But I never take it to heart that I am suffering from an orthopaedic problem . My belt  actually (or fakely ?) makes my tummy area look flattened . What else do I need ?

  • Work for your fitness , not just perfect body shape

The woman in my society whom i feel jealous beacuse she has a slim figure and she adorns sexy dresses , lacks far behind me when it comes to stamina . She cannot walk on treadmill for more than 10 minutes and she loses breath quickly while climbing stairs . Don’t you want to know about me ? Well I can easily do half an hour on treadmill and i do climb till my house on 5th floor . So the point is that you should work  on  your fitness , not just weightloss or a sexy figure .

Stretch your body , not stress your body

Work on your health , not just body

  • Work on your hobby ,  not just wardrobe

Everytime you open your wardrobe and see lots of dresses which don’t fit you , you feel so low . You keep standing in front of it and staring which dress would fit you . I am no exception . Last month I had to go to some marriage function . I opened my wardrobe , tried atleast 8-10 dresses , with the result just  to mess up on my bed .

Worry less on your wardrobe . Think beyond . Which is your long lost hobby ? Do you love to read or dance ? Write or draw ? Garden or music ? There must be some unfulfilled desires in your mind . Work on those one step at a time – spending may be just half an hour for it .

  • Don’t bother about people  who make you feel guilty

Real friends always love you the way you are . They even help you out . But beware of  the online janta, stop bothering about what they comment  . Kitni moti ho gyi tu yaar , Kuch karo , diet plan le lo .

Avoid such people . You  are your own  motivation . Reaching the age of 40 , you have already gained lot of  wisdom  to push away negative from yourself . You just need to remind yourself how beautiful you are from inside .

Love your body . There’s more to life than just a perfect body .

Women ! Your  greys are your  wisdom hair. Your weight gain or the skin dryness don’t define you .  The strength , confidence , struggles , courage to smile amidst sorrows are the real gains of your  life .

Repeat daily  – ‘I love myself as I am’

Zoozoozoo : A journey

Today is Sunday ,  May 1st 2022 and yesterday i was invited to my daughter's school to witness a small function.  My daughter Suhani was born in 2007 and the day clearly flashes in front of my eyes when she got on to the auditorium stage for her first annual function during her LKG class . I had dressed her up in a beautiful purple frock . The auditorium echoed  with the sounds of claps as the team LKG stepped on to the stage and took their positions as couples . Their teacher had blushed  everyone's cheeks pink and golden. The song started 'Zoozoozoo......we welcome you ......' and the kiddos started twisting their hips and legs holding on to their partners . Awww...it was such an adorable performance that a mother couldn't control her tears .  Watching some  kids who forgot their dance steps and wanted to just run here and there on the stage was fun too !  Yesterday was the day when she again marched  on to the auditorium,  this time ...

Uplift your mood

My evening today was not good . I was doing all domestic chores in a  burdened way. I tried watching some  movie but it couldn't interest me . One of my colleagues called to intimate me of  some upcoming duty. That further pressurized my bad  mood . I wore my shoes , put on my headphones and got ready for a walk . After walking for around half an hour and listening to old bollywood , my feet took me towards the splash pool where children were enjoying . I removed my shoes and sat there at the edge of the pool dipping my feet into the water. Watching me , one of my friends also came and sat along . Both of us sat for quite  long on the edge of pool - chatting and dabbling our toes in the water. This cooled my mind and uplifted my mood .  You need to find  your own ways to uplift your mood as and when required . Music , Dance ,Good food , Laughing , shopping ,picnic ,  playing any sport you like , painting , talking to someone , chanting a man...

Blogging Marathon in my Mind #Barathon 2018

I have been blogging for the last around one year . I should not address myself as a newbie blogger now , but still I feel high or low as a blogger sometimes . There are times when I  motivate myself to write blog posts or be active on social media but there also come some times when I feel like quitting blogging . There is a blogging marathon running in my mind all the time – sometimes positive and sometimes negative . Here are the thoughts which peep into my mind as a blogger . 1. Blog Blog Blog – what should I blog about ? A story or a poem ? My life experience or my dreams ? 2. Other bloggers ask me – What’s your niche ? What should I answer them ? I think think and think but I don’t reach to any conclusion . What actually I want to share with my readers ? Rather what actually should I share with my readers ? 3. Why did I name my blog AluBhujia ? Did I plan to write about food earlier or just because this is my favourite bhujia ? Should I change it ? Is...
