Devonport and Orewa Beach #Traveloguenz

In Auckland , it’s quite easy and very comfortable to roam around by public transport  . You get an AT Hop card , it’s a travel prepaid card issued by Auckland Transport which you can use in buses , trains and even in ferries .

If you want to read  my NewZealand travelogue from the beginning go to part 1

I got myself an AT(Auckland Transport) Hop Card and  also downloaded the trains timetable and the railway line map also on my phone .orewa

I was staying in Papakura . From Papakura I boarded the train direct to Britomart . Opposite the Britomart train station , there is Downtown ferry terminal very closeby which took me just 5 minutes of walking .

Devonport

Reaching the ferry terminal , you can get a ferry to Devonport .It’s around 15 minute beautiful ferry ride . You get to experience the breathtaking sea  and  the stunning views of the Auckland city .

I was mesmerized to see the  views across the harbour , watch some people sailing , see some beautiful islands far away . I was astonished to know that many islands there have been formed  due to volcanic eruptions .

The beauty of the the small caostal town Devonport is that it offers  beautiful views of sea and the city plus it has variety of shops and lot of places to eat and few galleries too .

Enjoying the picturesque views ,coffee and the potato wedges at a local cafe relaxed me well . I must say it’s a wonderful spot you just can’t miss if you visit Auckland .

Orewa Beach

My next destination was Orewa . Orewa is a suburb of Auckland , lying 40 km north of central Auckland .Orewa beach is one of the most beautiful beaches of Auckland . It’s 3 km long , very clean and beautiful beach .

Orewa  was the first beach I got to visit in NewZealand and I just loved my walk on the golden sand accompanied by the cool gentle breeze which was running through my hair . Playing through the waves on the beach , writing my name on the sand and collecting few shells made wonderful memories in my heart .

Me at Orewa Beach

Beaches and hills always  attract me very much and here too I wished I could spend more and more time with  the waves which were tinkling my feet and the nature’s beauty which was captivating .

I am loving to write my #traveloguenz under the Blogchatter campaign #myfriendalexa

Zoning out and other tips to free your mind

Red zone , orange zone , green zone , we all are familiar with these terms now-a-days . The district where I live has been declared as a red zone . Red zone is the zone where there are quite a large number of cases of Corona virus infection and it stands a chance to spread rapidly . Orange zone is where there are few cases and it can be controlled with few efforts . Green zone is the one where there’s no virus infection as yet and we want it to remain a green zone . The same concept applies to our thoughts . Sometimes the life becomes a real struggle – there are conflicts with family , pressures at workplace , parenting burdens , health troubles , and there accompany them the stressful  emotions -frustration , anger , sadness , hatred , self-neglect , and many more . When such emotions pile up in your mind , you need to become very careful of your thoughts as your mind has entered a red zone . You have to work on your thoughts so as to avoid potential of community outbreak o...

All this was quite exciting you know as I got to understand a bit of creative side of writing , made some new blogger friends , and became a proud AUTHOR of two ebooks .  In 2018 my theme was #Astitva where I wrote about various stigmas faced by a woman in our society . In 2019 I wrote under the theme #Prerna where I uploaded  some inspirational posts . In 2020 all my blogposts were related to the life of middle aged women (as that was the time I had just stepped into my forties ) . That was the time I came up with the book 'The Silv...

A letter to my Kitchen

Being a woman i also spend lot of time in my kitchen whether full heartedly , half heartedly or not at all heartedly . But in any case i have to go in my kitchen off and on . Today I feel like writing a letter to my kitchen. Dear Kitchen    Hope you are living a fulfilling life with all your jars filled to the brim with wheat , rice , pulses , sugar , tea ,coffee and cookies . I also hope that your sinks are now empty and clean unlike the last month when maid was on leave . Those days ,your sinks used to be piled up with utensils and it stinked so badly .  Dear kitchen , it's been around seventeen years that i am taking care of you . Now you are grown up as a teenager and so you should learn to be responsible and maintain your hygiene .  It feels good when my family agrees on khichdi and your cooker does the job   in  just one whistle . But you just don't cooperate when they demand Chole Bhature and you also start giving me tantrums . Remember ho...
